The task - design a small mudroom addition with exterior detailing to match a lovingly restored tudor-revival exterior. We matched details such as the decorative bargeboard and bracketing on the rake side of the gable, decorative rafter tails on the eave side of the gable, and stucco finish with decorative stonework. We incorporated a window from the historic residence and a new custom door selected by our clients.

Platform performed a site visit to take existing measurements, and drew construction plans for the addition so our clients could obtain a building permit. We provided support during permit reviews for revisions including a cost-saving change to a concrete masonry block foundation. We also performed an energy study to ensure the building would be compliant with current code requirements. The very magical interior finishes, lighting, and furnishings were selected by our incredible clients.
